Participants will work together to create a remote operated vehicle (ROV) that can work underwater. We’ll test the vehicles in a big tank and compare it to a commercial ROV we have been donated. We’ll also explore how ROVs can help with exploring our waterways and brainstorm how they could be used to help monitor waterway health. We’re very lucky to have the encouragement of the research and education team at VIU’s Deep Bay Marine station to run these sessions! If scheduling allows, we hope to have a video call with Deep Bay staff to discuss marine science and participant’s thoughts and ideas.
This year we’re proud to be a Maker Camp by Make Community Partner! We will be including select content from Make:’s Maker Camp resource library to enrich our program to inspire further exploration!
